In Japan, tea has become a influence throughout the centuries. As the Japanese monks traveled to China and had brought tea back with them, the monks brought tea back with them, to propagate the tea to grow on the temple.
An ancient Zen priest in the period of 1141—1215 created the tea drinking custom (Cha-no-yu) for Japan.
A whole culture was created around the Cha-no-yu, tea ceremony. This tea ceremony interested the wealthy and this would entice this culture of the Cha-no-yu ceremony.
It was several years later that having a cup a tea now has become a daily beverage.
